Fall Greetings

Hello – Welcome November!

My lawn is a blanket of brightly colored leaves, and I love it!  Although maybe that is because I don’t have to rake them!  HA!!  I hope this fall is treating you all well.  We have certainly had beautiful weather.

I would like to send so many kudos and thanks to our Education Committee for planning our first AC event since 2019. It was fantastic! The speakers were excellent, and I feel like everyone who attended had a great time. It was so good to connect in person. Getting ideas for streamlining work, best practices, etc. happens when we network. The great Q&A after our presentations would not have happened virtually.

If you haven’t already done so, please fill out your evaluations so that we can get a better understanding of what you want presented at our future meetings. We are planning a spring meeting and another AC meeting in the fall.

With the new NCRA Continuing Education in Person (CEIP) initiative, ORANJ is committed to helping our members fulfill this requirement. ORANJ understands the financial strain this may cause the ODS community, and we will do all we can to keep the costs manageable.

At our business meeting in AC, we discussed our membership fees. Though we are tax-exempt, running ORANJ isn’t free. We have accountant fees, website master fees, software fees, etc.  Our treasurer, Cynthia, gave a comprehensive account of our expenditures and if you would like a copy please let me know. We have decided to up the membership fee to $5.  Membership will be opening soon. We hope you will continue to support our state organization.  No members = no ORANJ.

We also discussed volunteer positions open.  We desperately need volunteers for the Education Committee– members and co-chairs.  We could also use a Parliamentarian, Web and Publications, Ways and Means co-chair.  While volunteering on a committee may seem daunting know that you are never alone.  All the committee members help each other.  There is a ton of guidance.  Please contact me if you would like to join any of the committees.

And the winner of the NeuralFrame gift card is Brain Palidar!  What!!? Brian was quite the winner at the meeting and donated back one of his gift cards.  Guess this makes up for that!

Thank you all for your continued support!
Happy Fall Y’All!
