Virtua’s Cancer Program is accredited by both the American College of Surgeons and by the National Accreditation for Breast Centers.

Job Description:

Abstracts and codes cancer data in compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, New Jersey State Cancer Registry and Surveillance Epidemiology End Results (SEER) of the National Cancer Institute requirements. Conducts case finding and follow-up, performs quality assurance activities, participates in cancer conferences, assists with survivorship care plan preparation.

Required Qualifications:

2-year degree in a health-care related field or equivalent college education credits
RHIA/RHIT certification (Registration of Accreditation by the American Health Information Management Association) or eligibility preferred. Certified Tumor Registrar certification or eligibility. Tumor Registrar certification required within 12-18 months from date of hire.
