Job Description:
- Reviews the medical records for each eligible patient by analyzing the patient history, physical exam, diagnostic tests, staging, medical and nursing care to complete the abstract in accordance with ACOS Cancer Program standards, and NJ State requirements.
- Maintains the systematic methods of case finding
- Maintains abstracting productivity and quality rates that are compatible with the organization and national established benchmark.
- Assists with timely monthly reporting to the NJ State Cancer Registry, including any special studies and audits.Assists in the submission to Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS). Monthly exports and submits all eligible cases for valid performance quality measures and adheres to RCRS terms and conditions. Reviews, monitors, and updates all the alerts and cases in RCRS to ensure compliance for each specific quality measure.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Tumor Registrar
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong abstracting background. Skills & abilities preferred: Knowledge of Cancer Registry operations. Oncolog cancer registry software, EPIC EMR.
