Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Full-time Cancer Registrar or the Cancer Registry Department to work from 7 AM to 3 PM, weekends are not required.
The Cancer Registrar analyzes, abstracts and codes demographic, patient and cancer-related information, treatment and staging from multiple databases on all eligible cancer cases seen and/or diagnosed at AHS. The Cancer Registrar must comply with standards of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, SEER, AJCC and the New Jersey State Cancer Registry. The Cancer Registrar performs lifetime follow-up to provide cancer incidence, treatment and outcome information to appropriate databases, for quality improvement activities, administrative planning and marketing, and support programs. The Cancer Registrar assists with quality control activities, information requests and quality improvement studies as required. Maintain and participate in education related to abstracting and attend a national or regional meeting once during a survey cycle. Performs any other tasks as assigned, in the time frame established by registry management or lead registrar(s)
Required License/Certifications: CTR -Certified Tumor Registrar
Minimum Experience Required:
- 3+ years experience in a cancer registry preferred
- Must hold current CTR credential
